Data we process
- Account and device identifiers needed to keep you signed in.
- Quiz answers, coaching preferences, habit settings, story text, practice scores, progress, and subscription status.
- Voice audio during a coaching or practice session, plus the resulting transcript.
- App events, diagnostics, crash reports, and coarse technical information needed to operate and improve Tells Well.
- Push token and reminder engagement if you enable notifications.
Tells Well does not sell personal data, use it for third-party advertising, or track you across other companies’ apps and websites.
Voice and AI
Audio is sent securely to the configured voice-model provider to run the session. Text may be sent to the configured language-model provider to produce a debrief, story structure, or practice score. Provider access is server-side and scoped. Raw voice audio is deleted after 24 hours by default. A day-one comparison clip is retained for at most 30 days only after explicit consent.
Storage, sharing, and retention
Tells Well uses service providers for hosting, databases, private object storage, AI processing, push delivery, subscriptions, and crash diagnostics. They process data only to provide those functions. Story and account data remains until you delete it or the operational retention period expires. Export links and their private archive objects expire after 15 minutes.
Your choices
Settings lets you change reminders and coaching preferences, export your data and retained audio, wipe recordings immediately, sign out, or permanently delete the account. Account deletion removes user-owned rows and private objects; backup expiry may take up to 24 hours.
You can deny microphone or notification access in system settings. Tells Well cannot run a voice session without microphone access. Notifications are optional.
Security and children
Tells Well uses encrypted transport, short-lived access tokens, rotating refresh tokens, private signed object URLs, and restricted provider credentials. No system is completely secure. Tells Well is not directed to children under 13.
